Bright Nights

My Sydney trip surely wasn't one that allows any sort of breaks in between! In fact, we were constantly on the go from morning to late at night. Of course, that just makes everything more worthwhile, not a second to lose with so little time in this beautiful city! After having spent so many hours at Darling Harbour, Chinese Garden Friendship and Opera House working on our year long awaited project, Joanne took me to dinner at Hurricanes. Apart from our project, their pork ribs are the next best thing that she has been raving about constantly! We were starving after the whole day's work and ordered what seems to be for 3 to 4 people. As it was only a small night out by the harbour, I opted for a simply and casual look for this carefree outing! Given the hot summer night and having fo[...]

Spring Nights

Hope everyone is enjoying their last two days of the Year 2013 because I totally am ending with one of the biggest bangs in Sydney! The last whole week was definitely filled with so much fun which I will share it with you on this blog soon. So much had been going on, which was one of the reasons why I hadn't been able to sit down to write a blog post over a month. It was a fairly warm spring night back when we were out celebrating the Lights Festival in Perth with of my friends, I said that I've never went to this festival before for the last four years that I am here so it's a must that at least attend it this year. Seeing how it is a big event which will be filled with huge crowd, I've opted to go for a casual dress which also gives me some space to breathe if it gets a bit too h[...]

A Night to Remember

As far as I can go back to the memories etched in my mind, the only time I really enjoyed watching fireworks on New Year's Eve was back in the days when we celebrated entering into the new millenium. That was probably one of the biggest events then and, that's also when the trend of putting fireworks on every new year eve begins. It's funny how the years after just do not bring as much excitement like the last one and consequently, making the annual fireworks just another publicity event solely for publicity purposes. That being said, I'm only referring to the ones in Malaysia as far as I am aware of. But then again, I guess that's just one of the way things work and it also boils down to the individual him/herself on how to turn just another event into a night to remember with just a [...]

Melbourne by Night

There is a saying that goes by 'everything changes when the night falls'. I can say that Melbourne city is living up to that phrase without a doubt in mind. I didn't know how many times have I repeated this to both Joanne and Boon Hee, but oh yes, they have to bear with my constant squirms of how I feel so alive whenever I walk the streets of Melbourne. Isn't the view behind just breathtaking? It's been a long time since I've surrounded myself with skyscrapers and I truly missed being the city girl at heart. We both got a change of outfits after Mount Dandenong to get all sparkly for a night of fun and adventure! Prior to that, we had dinner at Madang that was tucked hidden at a corner, and knowing that Joanne was with us, Korean food was definitely inevitable. [...]

Boxing Day

A day that we've been waiting for all year round, to be honest, I hardly shop whenever I'm in Australia, and that is definitely not an understatement that's coming from me. Reason being that I believe everything is overpriced here for some reasons. But then again, I expected myself to go crazy beforehand considering that boxing day sales has to be the craziest all year round, and with stories from everyone on how there is a queue starting from early wee hours of the morning, it would be sensible to think that there has to be a lot of great bargains isn't it? Thankfully we're staying right smack in the middle of the city so it would only take a few minutes of walk to the city centre! Ahhh, the perks of staying in the city. It wasn't long till we wal[...]

The City that Stole My Heart

Melbourne. Well known for its concentrated art culture, a mix between Perth and yet, not losing the buzz city lifestyle filled with life. I have been anticipating to go to Melbourne for the last few years, and thankfully my girlfriend and I decided to make it happen a few months back and that's when we bought our tickets and there isn't any way back! ;-) Two students whom met all the way back in uni whilst studying accounting, both of us having a burning passion for photography and fashion styling respectively. We figured that we could make this trip our first collaboration together, considering that she's moved to Sydney and I'm still here in Perth! Therefore, this mini reunion could be our first step to a bigger path down our dreams. Took the earliest flight to Melbo[...]

Lady Gaga Concert x Versace

Months before the much anticipated Lady Gaga's concert, I've been cracking for ideas with Joy on what to wear. We've came up with: - buying police tapes from Bunnings and just wrap around myself under a black dress, - borrow Joy's paper lanterns and squeeze my arms through it as sleeves, I even bought a pink feather skirt when I'm broke but that's okay, I've consoled myself that it's worth it for the concert solely for the concert!! But alas, I sticked to my trusty ol' Versace for H&M dress because it's crazy and loud enough for Lady Gaga. And most important of all, it's long sleeves because I'm such a wuss when it comes to the cold. Bleaghhh. I didn't think that the idea of seeing Lady Gaga had sink into my head then. Speaking of which, it was such a difficult t[...]

Style Diary : I'm an orange!

On my second day in Singapore, we decided on going to Marina Bay Sands as there was so much hype about it when it first opened and still does! We took a taxi ride after the peak office time to escape the extra fee, GOSH there's so many taxi fee rules to the extent that it's more complicated than my history books! I was starving by the time we reached so we had our mini dim sum at their food court. I don't know if it's just my family or what but we LOVE Singapore's food court so much more than Malaysia's one and that's where we go to at least half the trip to fill our grumbling tummies! I'm so in love CURRENTLY OBSESSED with bright colours at the moment, it's just a phase that I go through every now and then but sometimes, I would come up with themes for m[...]

Graduation Day

After 3 long years of slacking in studies, constant worries and nags coming from my parents and sister on why is their daughter/sister not as hardworking as others, nervous breakdowns every single time during exams on why hadn't I pay more attention in class and the endless times I told myself to 'Just Screw It' during exam, I'VE FINALLY GRADUATED!!! MY GOD!!! As I've intended to graduate with green hair, unfortunately it fades away so fast till just a few tiny strands of green with a whole load of golden yellow. A blessing in disguise perhaps, because it matches with the dress I've designed for myself perfectly along with the Curtin logo as well. WHOSE THE BOSS NOW HUHH?!?! Since last year, I have already picked out the flowers I [...]
