Sail Away

If there's ever one place in Perth that I'll never get tired of, it'll be Fremantle. From its quirky atmosphere along the 'Cappucino Strip', to beautiful beaches strewn across the coastal drive, Fremantle has captured my heart in every way. The best bit is that, it's a town great to be explored by foot or cycling if you're keen! There's just too many things to see that one day is never enough to fit all of it in. Heck, even when I've been there countless times over the years, I'm constantly amazed by its beauty and there's bound to be a new experience every single visit. This particular trip, I was blown away when a friend of mine, Xingyi introduced me to the doughnut stall located in the markets. Strangely enough, I've walked past it too many times and I was completely unaware tha[...]

High Up Above

It's been 3 months and this will be the last post on my Sydney trip for now! Been itching to write this up before the last few posts and keeping them in chronological order but my silly habit of wanting to save the best for the last got the better of me. I've been so blessed to be able to get onto this surreal scenic plane ride during my trip in Sydney, and once again, I wouldn't have this opportunity if it wasn't for Scott and I also have Joanne to thank for. Overcoming your fears definitely isn't something easy, and I'm grateful that you've gathered up the courage to put that fear aside for this one day. Not to mention, I've also managed to take in control of the plane for say 5 seconds? Though it wasn't long but hey, at least I've got something checked off my list! Not that it wa[...]

Summer in Bondi

Being one of the most popular beaches, it's inevitable that Bondi Beach was one of the places to be ticked off on my list when I was in Sydney for my holiday. Given that it was so hot that day, a good swim at the beach was definitely one of the highest temptations! But seeing how I was trying to squeeze in a few planned activities into a day, getting into the water was definitely out of the question which was just a shame! In saying that however, it definitely did not stop me from getting my swimsuit on for the day! Hadn't gotten into a one-piece swimwear ever since my highschool days, it felt strange that I'm parading around in a lycra piece. But since it was more of a casual outing, I've styled up my swimsuit without restricting it to only to be worn at the beaches. With a high-wa[...]

Ain't No Mountain High

I'm terribly sorry for my two weeks absence! It's been a hectic fortnight and I'm so lucky to be given the opportunity to be involved in the production and styling of Alpha Models Fashion Show! It was definitely one of the better experiences I have had in the fashion industry here in Perth. It's strange that I have so many things to post on my Sydney trip even when I've been diligently posting every week (or two)! Joanne and I had booked us in to a mini day trip to Blue Mountains to see The Three Sisters and Jenolan Caves. Words simply can't describe Mother Nature's beauty so I'm just going to let the pictures do the talk. I didn't had the chance to shoot much of my outfit pictures as we were completely out of breath by the time we reached the First Sister (first rock hahahaha!)[...]

Bright Nights

My Sydney trip surely wasn't one that allows any sort of breaks in between! In fact, we were constantly on the go from morning to late at night. Of course, that just makes everything more worthwhile, not a second to lose with so little time in this beautiful city! After having spent so many hours at Darling Harbour, Chinese Garden Friendship and Opera House working on our year long awaited project, Joanne took me to dinner at Hurricanes. Apart from our project, their pork ribs are the next best thing that she has been raving about constantly! We were starving after the whole day's work and ordered what seems to be for 3 to 4 people. As it was only a small night out by the harbour, I opted for a simply and casual look for this carefree outing! Given the hot summer night and having fo[...]

Birds of a Feather

Located right in the middle of the city centre, lies the Chinese Garden of Friendship. Just like a secret from both inside and out of the garden, I would not have known that there is a place that offers a sense of tranquility and abundantly filled with charm in the bustling Darling Harbour. Likewise, once you've entered the Chinese Garden, you would think that you were transported to a different place altogether, just like Narnia. Except that I didn't know which door that I've used to do so. After one whole year of waiting, Joanne and I had reunited again for another collaboration together in Sydney this time. As mentioned from my previous post, it was a full day shooting three different outfits and sight-seeing for myself. For this location, I've opted for a delicate piece of b[...]

Geometry

Simply iconic and exclusive to Sydney, visiting the Opera House was undoubtedly one of the places TO VISIT whenever one heads over to this gorgeous city. Armed with a huge goal that day, both Joanne and I had agreed to move around by feet in the most comfortable outfit. It was a day planned for sightseeing, three outfit changes and also a dinner booking to rush to at the end of the day! Seeing how we will be moving around most of the day, again, dressing in comfort is the key just like anyone else whom is travelling on their holiday! Just a few days before my trip, I've stumbled across this denim overall dress when I was casually going through the Sale Rack in General Pants & Co! I've been buying a lot of overalls last year, three to be precise and I'm not sure if it's just me, bu[...]

Get Your Swag On

Staying in one of the most gorgeous neighbourhoods in Sydney, it's inevitable that the street just right outside Joanne's apartment is so picturesque. Skipping right onto Boxing Day, all of us girls took note from the day before that we should braced ourselves with the crowd that's going to fill every inch of walking space in the city and also to dress in pieces where we can be ever so efficient in when it comes to fittings. Of course, advice often fall on deaf ears when it comes to us girls or rather just me. This is probably the only day in the year where the stores in the Australian shores open as early as 6 in the morning. What more reason is there to celebrate on that day apart from Christmas? :P Foreseeing that it will be a tough day, getting ahead of people just to grab that [...]

Talking Business

This has to be the quickest post that I had ever done immediately right after a trip. You'd probably have Joanne from Struck By Sunshine to thank, if not for her constant threats. I'm not sure if it's just me, but it was definitely a nightmare getting into Sydney on the first day as I always fall sick whenever I catch a plane and the worst was that my flight was delayed. Putting all the negativity aside, I persevered and kept reminding myself that I was there to make the most out of it! As soon as I got to Joanne's apartment located in the heart of the city, I was instantly captivated by the breathtaking view of Sydney just right outside of her balcony. Gone are the days where I've been longing to be back in a bustling city. It was a day plainly for us to indulge in what we hope[...]
